Production Inbox

Terms of Service

Last updated: August 2, 2026

These terms define the intended responsibilities of the Production Inbox operator and Shopify merchants. They remain a private release draft until operator and jurisdiction details are finalized.

1. Development status

These terms are a release-preparation draft. Production Inbox is not currently available for public installation. Operator identity, support contact, hosting, pricing, and any jurisdiction-specific legal review must be completed before publication.

2. Eligibility and authority

A user must be legally able to enter an agreement and must have authority to install and operate apps for the relevant Shopify store. Use of Shopify remains subject to Shopify's own terms and policies.

3. Service

Production Inbox reads a bounded set of authorized open-order facts and organizes line items into a searchable production list. It provides merchant-confirmed required-field rules and Ready, Making, Done, and reopen workflow controls.

The app does not replace Shopify as the order system of record, does not guarantee that buyer-provided customization is accurate, and does not make or ship products on the merchant's behalf.

4. Merchant responsibilities

  • Use the app only for a store and data the merchant is authorized to manage.
  • Confirm which customization fields are required; the app deliberately does not guess production rules.
  • Review blocked, changed, cancelled, and fulfilled orders before manufacturing or shipping.
  • Avoid collecting unnecessary sensitive information in customization fields and provide buyers with required notices.
  • Maintain secure Shopify accounts, limit staff access, and promptly report suspected compromise.
  • Comply with consumer, privacy, product-safety, intellectual-property, export, tax, and other laws applicable to the merchant's products and customers.

5. Acceptable use

The service must not be used to break laws, infringe rights, distribute malware, probe or overload systems, evade Shopify limits, access another merchant's data, or process prohibited products or content. Automated activity that bypasses documented limits is not allowed.

6. Fees

The private development build has no merchant charges. Before any paid release, the applicable price, billing period, trial, renewal, cancellation, upgrade, and downgrade terms will be displayed through Shopify App Pricing or the Shopify Billing API. Production Inbox will not charge App Store merchants through an off-platform payment link.

7. Availability and changes

The operator may maintain, improve, limit, suspend, or discontinue features to protect security, comply with Shopify or law, or operate the service. Reasonable notice will be provided for material changes when practicable. Emergency security actions may occur without advance notice.

8. Data and privacy

The merchant retains rights in its store data. The operator receives a limited right to process that data only to provide, secure, support, and comply with legal obligations for the service. The Privacy Policy explains categories, purposes, retention, and deletion.

9. Intellectual property and feedback

The app, documentation, and operator-created materials remain the operator's property. Shopify and merchant content remain owned by their respective owners. Feedback may be used to improve the service without identifying the contributor or disclosing confidential store information.

10. Disclaimers and liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the service is provided without warranties that it will be uninterrupted or detect every production error. Merchants remain responsible for final production decisions, fulfillment, product quality, and legal compliance.

Any final limitation of liability, governing law, dispute process, and mandatory consumer or commercial rights must be reviewed for the operator's place of establishment before these terms are published.

11. Termination

A merchant may stop using the service by uninstalling it through Shopify. The operator may suspend access for security, abuse, non-payment under a future approved plan, Shopify direction, or legal necessity. Data is handled after uninstall according to the Privacy Policy and Shopify's verified redaction lifecycle.

12. Contact

Questions about these terms should be sent to the configured support address shown below. Contact details must be finalized before public release.
